A FORMER MID-CENTURY BANK BUILDING IS RENOVATED TO CREATE A NEW NEIGHBORHOOD JEWELRY STORY IN THE EAST HILLS NEIGHBORHOOD.

Metal Arts Studio, established in 1990, moved from their former Monroe Avenue location to 978 Cherry SE at the corner of Cherry and Diamond.  The building is a former Old Kent Bank Branch building.  Located in the Cherry Hill Historic District, the mid-century building had been through an earlier windowless renovation.   The new owners gave the building back its cool, modern vibe when they removed the cinder blocks from the facade  and installed new windows on both the Cherry and Diamond sides of the buildings.  Their renovation more closely aligns the building with the original bank design.  The building is roughly 1,200 square foot of ground level space providing both retail and studio space providing the community with a neighborhood jewelry store.
